CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Level 1-2

Preparing the entire body for practice, we begin by an invigorating, classical blend of Surya and Shiva Namaskar vinyasas to aid in bringing flexibility to the muscles and joints. We will follow up with a powerful series of balances, seated postures and stretches, back bends, twists and introduction to inversions. Practice will conclude with extended deep relaxation, breathing and meditation exercises, bringing a deep calm to body and mind.

Gentle

Focusing on basic yoga postures, stretching, flexibility and basic balance, this class introduces breath work and basic meditation skills. This class is for all levels wanting to come back to the basics of yoga to find their centering energy and self.

Restorative

Refresh, Rejuvenate, & Restore! Join us for a slow, gentle restorative practice, incorporating props, leading into a restorative yet rejuvenating set of postures and concluding with yogic sleep. Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body in restful postures. This 'rest' is different than sleep: rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Join us as you experience the proven physical and emotional benefits of Restorative Yoga.

Slow Flow

Focusing on basic yoga postures, stretching, flexibility and basic balance, this class introduces slow flow variations, combining breath work and basic meditation skills. This class is for all levels wanting to come back to the basics of yoga to find their centering energy and self.  A great start for beginners as well as a class for seasoned practitioners adding to and growing in their practice.

Hatha

We will follow up with a series of balances, seated postures and stretches, back bends, twists and introduction to inversions. Practice will conclude with extended deep relaxation, breathing and meditation exercises, bringing a deep calm to body and mind. All Levels Welcome.

Mystic Yoga Flow

A deeper spiritual variation of our traditional Level 1-2 yoga class, join Dharma as she guides you into the deeper dimensions of yoga and mindfulness, tapping into the realm of spirit through the physical practice of hatha yoga, as well as the deeper mystical elements of mantra, mudra, and meditation. 

Yin

This practice is infused with an amazing practice of stretching, elongating and nurturing the connective tissues of the body that will compliment any other form of exercise or yoga practice. Focusing on these vital areas of the body, this deep practice will provide a balanced approach to physical and mental health.

Yoga Foundations

Great for students just beginning their yogic journey or those returning to their practice after time away. During this class students will be introduced to the fundamental classical postures of yoga asana. We will conclude this practice with deep relaxation, breathing, and meditation exercises to aid in bringing a sense of well-being to the body and peace to the mind. This class will prepare the beginner for our Gentle classes and/or Level 1 classes.

Power Flow

This is a challenging, yet lighthearted class designed to detoxify and empower the mind, body and spirit. Power Flow is taught in a vinyasa style that focuses on linking breath with movement. The sequences and pace of this class are designed to build strength and endurance, and increase flexibility. Some basic yoga experience highly suggested.

Gentle by Candlelight

Join us for a class in the candelight. Incorporating gentle hatha-raja principles as we move through an asana practice incorportating breathwork, centering and stress relief from a long day. Leave revitalized and calm ready to settle for the night.

Vinyasa Flow

All Levels Welcome! Breathe, focus, move, stretch and balance.  Link your breath with each movement and focus your attention. This well balanced flow class will get you out of your head and into your body and your breath.  Modifications and variations are offered and always welcome.

 

(Beginners are invited to join our Sunday afternoon Beginner/Foundations Yoga class in preparation of attending this class).
